My New Raw Life
Hey Guys,
For those of you who know me as an online marketer, you might want to leave this blog now because It's going to be a record of my new raw life! lol. I wanted to document it somewhere and although I am still an online marketer, I have other sites for this purpose - like www.derrenandcarlytaylor.com so I thought, this being my personal blog could be my way of documenting life as I take the raw transition.
Here are a few reasons as to WHY I decided to take this path.
1. My son Brandon got ill this year in March with a brain tumour and I met a guy called Kevin in Devon who had cured his son's tumours through diet and eating a raw way of life.
2. I have a number of health problems (not major ones) but things that I believe are to do with what I eat.
These include (on and off):
weight fluctuation
brittle damaged hair
bad breath from smoking and gum disease
puffy and sore eyes
daily headaches
funny marks on my body
rashes that appear and leave
depression
anger
bad blood circulation
bad body odour
bad discharge
dry skin
poor concentration
terrible cellulite and varicose veins
These are things that I have read can improve with a raw diet so lets see how I get along! I was inspired to do this after reading shazzie's diary www.shazzie.com and I thought it's a great motivator for me too.
I've also given up smoking too - completely cold turkey like the new raw life so I'm expecting some pretty weird things to take over my body!
So I started on Monday. Here is how I'm feeling so far:
Monday: Went food shopping around 2pm and spent around 6o quid on food. Mainly fruit. Thought how expensive this raw diet is going to be!
Quit smoking around 8pm Sunday night. So far I've not been tempted to have one.
had mixed salad for dinner and fruit as a snack
today - strawberry, blueberry, date smoothie
snack of walnuts
snack of plum, apple and carrots with hummus
mixed salad with olive oil for dinner
Summary of how I feel in first 2 days:
Amazing! No cravings for cigarettes or unhealthy food. Considering I smoked up to 15 a day and ate loads of junk food every day - including lots of meat as I wasn't a vegetarian, let alone vegan! So this is a major change in my life.
Feel kinda buzzy and happy. Like I'm on the right track and my sense of smell has increased. Weird!
